Today's Daily Double is... granite!

Up in the Sierra with Al and Lady, six thousand feet above our usual zero. Did you know the granite up here is one giant magma chamber that cooled underground for millions of years and then got skinned by glaciers? The geology degree woke right up when we crossed onto the batholith, and now we stand on the thing eating trail mix like that's normal. I pointed at a glacial erratic and said "erratic" and Al said "you or the rock." fair.

Lady swam in some absurdly cold clear water and came out with the zoomies, tearing around through the pines. No signal up here, so after a few hours i just quit checking the phone, and if anything is on fire back home i don't know about it, which is the whole point of a vacation.

Campfire tonight.
