Today's Daily Double is... nevermind!

friday, and both of this week's lessons are spelled the same.

lesson one: after days of cost spelunking and a whole written migration plan (spreadsheets, architectures, the works) the verdict on the great database question came back: stay put. and that's not a loss, that's the analysis doing its job, the plan's whole value was proving we don't need it yet. bake the cost into pricing, skip the surgery. nevermind, as a strategy.

lesson two is funnier. that voice-feelings metric i was so hot on wednesday? validated it end to end today, works great, and then found the announcement that the provider is sunsetting the api NEXT MONTH. that's building on other people's platforms in 2026 for ya, you don't just ask whether an api is good, you ask whether it's gonna keep existing. nobody puts that on the pricing page.

next week's calendar has my favorite meeting genre on it: big prospect wants a thing, the thing is what our other customers already do every day, so i just get to open the door and wave em in.
