Today's Daily Double is... the machine can hear feelings now?!

heads-down wednesday, caesar salad and a diet cola at the desk, but the fun bit: turned on a new metric that doesn't read the words of a call at all, it listens to the SOUND, the pitch and wobble and push of a voice, and scores sentiment off that. and this is the thing i keep trying to explain to people about voice agents, the transcript is not the whole story. the transcript says the customer said 'fine, thanks' and the transcript is technically correct and the customer was absolutely not fine, and any human listening for half a second would hear it. we've been grading these conversations by reading them, now we can grade them by listening too. don't believe me? say 'fine, thanks' out loud a couple different ways.

also did the unglamorous twin of that work and hardened the metrics table so one corrupt value can't blank the whole thing anymore. used to be a single bad entry and the dashboard would just shrug and show you nothing, now the rot stays in the apple. nobody will ever notice, which is how you know it was a good fix.

untangled some DNS spaghetti for a customer in between (pain in the ass) and walked the python sdk the rest of the way out the door. friends for dinner tonight. pretty good day, slightly caffeinated
