Today's Daily Double is... teaching the robots new languages!

up at 5:45 and biked to the gym in the dark to swim laps, half a mile before most alarms went off, then the cold plunge (this gym has two saunas AND a hot tub AND a cold plunge, it is a spa wearing a gym costume and i am not complaining).

then to work, where the job today was taking the simulations multilingual, bc voice agents oughta get tested in the languages their actual callers speak. so i stood up a whole stable of test personas and named every single one after myself. there's a spaniard and a dutchman and a hindi speaker and a brazilian, each with his own voice and his own opinions about pronunciation, plus one nurse persona who stays stubbornly english to hold down the fort. the hindi voice kept quietly breaking transcripts and ate half my afternoon before i cornered it, the chinese voice had to be retired bc the speech vendor doesn't support it yet (a moment of silence please), and french canadian is next in the queue, mostly bc I want to hear it.

al saw a whale from the ferry today! her own whale. the bay is handing them out this week. family dinner tonight, six of us around a lazy susan full of dumplings, dad still in town. full day
