Today's Daily Double is... down from the mountain!
Home earlyish Sunday, down out of the snow and back to the tide. The whole company went up to a coworker's family place this weekend, wood stove, ski boots in a pile by the door, and Saturday was proper blue-sky skiing that went soft by noon, then sledding on whatever plastic we could find, then a long evening of hanging around the fire just chatting. Good people, good skiers, good snow. I work with genuinely kind folks and it is worth saying plain.
The drive down is a strange one. Seven thousand feet of granite and pine, and a few hours later you're crossing the bridge in the fog, then the dock, then the boat, who does not care where I've been. She just shifts a little when I step aboard, like, oh, you.
March now. Legs sore in the good way. Tomorrow the office and whatever the week's got loaded.
