Today's Daily Double is... lil chungus bites!

demo'd the metrics work at standup, went well. bit hacky, but whaddayagonnado, a demo is a magic trick and you don't apologize for the wires. tool calls broke mid-day, fixed em, wrote regression tests so future me finds a fence where present me found a cliff.

new model dropped today too, and within an hour I caught it being sorta dumb in one specific way: loves writing new code, hates reusing what's already sitting right there. meanwhile the craft stays the same, took the big chungus PR and split it into lil chungus bites. small bites review fast, merge fast, break small. not new wisdom, just wisdom i gotta re-learn every quarter, like flossing.

also bought a buddy's kid a birthday present: an rc boat for the pool. bought his ass an rc boat! eight year olds and me want the same things outta life, we just got different budgets.

ferry home into a headwind, couple beers on the back deck, Al coming down the dock with dinner in a bag. huzzahhh
