Today's Daily Double is... the friday gratitude ledger!

end of the first real stretch of the new chapter, so instead of a story, a list. things witnessed and owed thanks:

• a juvenile blue heron on Lady's morning walk, gawky like a teenager in his dad's suit, plus one other bird i cannot identify except to say it was genuinely creepy and i respect it
• got my lil assistant bot semi-wired into whatsapp, so i can mumble an idea at my phone from anywhere and the always-on machine at home catches it
• coworkers who, asked on a whim to run half a marathon to go look at a boat, said yes and meant it (still walking today. mostly)
• Al, who is so good at first impressions it's nearly unfair. i watch people meet her and decide inside a minute they've known her for years. i made the same decision once, best one going
• the ferry. carries me across cold deep water every day for the price of a sandwich and nobody applauds
• the lunch crowd at dolores park, a protest, huge turnout, no kings, and SO many young people showing up loud on a friday bc they give a damn. awesome to see
• sushi and a cola zero for lunch, yummm
