Today's Daily Double is... an ice storm back home!

brutal bug day. one in every ten runs my fake caller forgets which side of the conversation it's on and starts playing the other part, and one-in-ten is the worst kind of broken bc nine clean runs make you a liar. had two agents arguing opposite theories at each other, ran clean out of tokens twice (classssic), and by late afternoon i needed sky.

so, rooftop, called Mom. ice storm coming for the carolinas, everybody stocking up, grandma's real happy, the twins came through to visit. and while she talked I was nine years old in cary again, listening to the loblolly pines crack in the dark, power out, school called off before the first drop even fell. that's the thing about storms back home, they tell you three days out and everybody runs for the bread and milk and then the thing actually shows up and takes half the trees down with it. out here it kinda just mists for a week and they call that winter. i love this bay but man i do miss the real stuff sometimes.

stay warm Mom, hug them dogs for me (and leave a tap dripping so the pipes don't burst)
