Today's Daily Double is... four people on the ferry!

mlk day and the ferry ran anyway and there were four of us on it. four! had the whole upper deck to myself like some off-brand millionaire. worked the holiday (one week into the new job, too new and too hungry to stay home) and an office on a holiday is sorta like church, nobody talking, just me writing a newsletter about fake background noise, which is a real thing i do now.

met Al at the museum midday for the KAWS show and it was ROASTING out, january doing a july impression. galleries packed too, all these people spending their holiday squinting at giant cartoon figures with x'd out eyes. i don't really understand the work and nobody there let that stop them either. good for us.

also made it official: march, japan, sumo in person (Al coming, obviously). i have failed to watch this basho on a laptop for two straight weeks but I will watch the next one from a seat in the actual building.

dr. king dreamed up a country where a monday like mine is possible. worth remembering who paid for the ease. walked back down the hill and got back to work.
