Today's Daily Double is... tide math!
minus tide at 3:40 this afternoon, which means the ramp down to the dock gets steep as hell and hauling groceries down it becomes a sport (blame the moon, i do). and the big flood at midnight means the boat swings and creaks all night and the fenders get a workout. four herons out on the flats at the bottom of the drop today, plus one egret, they run the same schedule.
took the kayak out for the last hour of the ebb and let the current do most the work, whole bay ticking and popping down in the mud.
you check the numbers, you plan around em, the water does exactly what the column said it would. good system! wish I had more like it
