Today's Daily Double is... last day of the year!

spent it soft. coffee on the back deck while the gulls ran their morning arguments. poked at the excuse bot, which is now deployed AND functional, meaning the first phone call of my new year will be a robot calling to lie on my behalf (a good omen, i've decided). tidied the desk, coiled the cables, walked Lady to the end of the dock at dusk and watched the light go down behind tam.

the year that's ending: built some games nobody asked for and people played em anyway, whispered at computers til they did my bidding, sat on a couch in miami and watched people I love play a thing i made. not bad.

tonight it's champagne with al on a boat that moves with the tide, dog asleep on the rug, fireworks somewhere across the bay we'll hear more than see through the fog. see ya next year
