Today's Daily Double is... the dog-shaped snooze button!

Lady has figured out that if she army-crawls up the bed at 6:45 and deploys her full seventy-something pounds against my back, i will not get up. this is trained behavior and I am the one who trained it. lost the negotiation completely this morning, took standup from the boat with a heron stalking the shallows out the window, caught the later ferry with zero guilt. the bay was glass. the dog won. the dog always wins.

then work went up-tempo, spent a good stretch scrubbing email addresses out of our logs, which is unglamorous privacy-plumber work but weirdly satisfying, nobody claps but the water's better for it. put the fix up for review and picked up the next thing, wrangling the catalog of default games, and now i'm scheming a lil status page for it, one pane of glass that just says what's live where, bc right now that answer lives in six heads and none of them is mine. minor thing but sorta a nice quality of life win. we'll see.

lunch was a gross poke bowl. i say this every time and i order it every time, some men never learn and I am some men. redeemed it with Smash, sat with the boss in the afternoon, and the day rolled downhill through happy hour to an ol' checkered-tablecloth bar in north beach at 7:30 (the kind of place that has outlived every startup in a ten-block radius). busy day, good day. the last boat home was cold and i didn't mind it
