Last full night in North Carolina. Sister down the road, grandparents in their chairs, kids asleep somewhere dreaming kid dreams. Already scheming a spring trip back to sit with the grandparents while they are still exactly themselves, because that window doesn't announce itself when it closes.

Missed them before the plane even exists.
