Today's Daily Double is... the whole thanksgiving deal!

things I am grateful for, in no particular order:

• turkey, and the casseroles multiplying on the counter
• my sister living right down the road now. no more scheduled diplomatic visits, just walk over, sit down, more stuffing
• finally cracking the code on Isla. turns out you get down on the floor and stop being thirty-something and the kid laughs. who knew
• Rowan, a genuinely silly little man, more words every time i see him
• Al in my grandmother's kitchen laughing at something I couldn't hear
• the grandparents telling the same stories with the same timing (i would sit through em a thousand more times)
• hot tub. lots of hot tub. steam going up into the cold carolina dark

didn't miss my laptop even a little, which for me is a small miracle worth naming on the one day a year you're supposed to name em
